History

The independence and objectivity of Russian Register, as well as the competence of our staff are confirmed with numerous national and international accreditations and positive experience of 17-year activities .
Historically certification business was born out of the depth of classification societies. Russian Register as many other major international certification bodies, was created on the basis of management systems’ certification service of FGA «Russian Maritime Registry of Shipping», which has been running its activities as the certification body already since 1993.
The classification society «Russian Registry» was established on the 31 December 1913, therefore RR decided to keep on its logo the old sign of that pre-revolution «Russian Registry» that represents the tangle of Marine anchor and the capital letters of name «PETRО Primo» — Peter the I.
The geographical structure of RR is growing from year to year becoming more and more global, at present it consists of 14 inspections and 55 offices in Russian Federation, 29 branches and 69 bars in CIS, Western and Eastern Europe, Asia, Northern and Southern America with the Head Office of Certification Association „Russian Register“ in Saint-Petersburg
